NBC and ABC are both claiming victory in the 25-54 demographic ratings race. Update: 10:29am: Last week, World News Tonight averaged 20,000 more demo viewers than NBC Nightly News. But both broadcasts averaged a 2.1 rating. So NBC says its broadcast placed first in the demo, and ABC its broadcast was the “#1 evening newscast among Adult 25-54.” ABC has delivered more demo viewers five weeks in a row.

NBC was definitely #1 among total viewers, beating ABC by 640,000 viewers.

Last week, Kate Snow anchored WNT Monday through Wednesday, and Terry Moran anchored on Thursday and Friday. With Charles Gibson back on the broadcast, we’ll see how the newscasts do this week. For the week of July 10:

Total viewers: NBC: 8,000,000 / ABC: 7,380,000 / CBS: 6,700,000

25-54 demo: NBC: 2.1/9 / ABC: 2.1/9 / CBS: 1.7/7
