The three evening newscasts continue to see year-over-year declines in viewership.
Compared to the same week last year ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir was down -4 percent in viewers and down -14 percent in the A25-54 demo; NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was down -7 in viewers and down -10 percent in the demo; and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley is down -9 percent and down -15 percent, respectively.
Still, a combined 23.5 million viewers tuned into the evening newscasts last week.
Muir’s broadcast was the most-watched for the week, with a +3 percent lead on Nightly. Holt’s broadcast ranked No. 1 in the demo with an +8 percent lead on World News Tonight.
Due to the Presidential Address, Tuesday’s CBS Evening News was retitled and excluded from the averages.
