“NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” held an +800,000 viewer lead on #2 “World News with Diane Sawyer” last week.
“Nightly” leads in younger viewers as well, by 301,000 viewers, but “World News” continues to narrow the gap delivering the smallest margin (season-to-date) since the 2008-09 season.
All three shows were down compared to the same week last year when the toppling of Tripoli, Hurricane Irene and the East Coast earthquake were big news.

Friday’s “CBS Evening News” was retitled due to NFL Preseason Football and is excluded from the averages.
