February sweeps: “Despite heavy competition from NBC’s Nightly News’ Olympic-related coverage during this period, World News Tonight posted a 2.6 rating, tying NBC,” ABC said in a press release today. “This marks the second consecutive February Sweep that ABC and NBC have tied in the key demo rating.”
NBC still earned a higher share in the demo, and delivered almost one million more total viewers. Here are the numbers:
Total viewers: NBC: 9,820,000 / ABC: 8,980,000 / CBS: 8,020,000
25-54 demo: NBC: 2.6/10 / ABC: 2.6/9 / CBS: 2.1/8
