Ethan Nelson has been named ep of the ABC News hidden camera show What Would You Do? Nelson joins from Good Morning America where he has been executive broadcast producer.
During his 11 years at ABC, which included two stints at GMA, Nelson was co-executive producer of Katie Couric’s daytime show.
Nelson joined ABC in 2004 as a field producer for 20/20 and Nightline. He takes over for Danielle Rossen, who created the concept for What Would You Do? and ran it until April when she departed the network.
Hosted by John Quiñones, What Would You Do? is now in its 13th season.
“What Would You Do? is already off to a strong start this season, and with Ethan, John Q and the great WWYD team leading the charge,” writes ABC News James Goldston in a note to staff. “I know there are even more thought-provoking, provocative and insightful shows ahead,” Goldston adds.
