Bill O’Reilly continues to make headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

During an on-the-record interview with New York Times reporters Emily Steel and Michael Schmidt, the duo who broke the O’Reilly sexual harassment story from April, and Saturday’s story about the $32 million settlement,  O’Reilly brought up the death of Eric Bolling‘s 19 year old son Eric Chase Bolling while speaking about how the allegations have affected on his own family.

“I urge you to think about what you put in your newspaper. Eric Bolling’s son is dead. He’s dead because of allegations made — in my opinion and I know this to be true — against Mr. Bolling,” O’Reilly said during the interview.

The younger Bolling was found dead the day after the elder Bolling was fired by Fox News amid sexual harassment allegations.

Steel tweeted Bolling’s esponse to O’Reilly’s controversial remarks about his late son:

Bolling guest-hosted The O’Reilly Factor on numerous occasions, both during and after O’Reilly’s tenure at the network. The seemingly positive relationship between the two men appears to be over for the time being.

We still do not know how Eric Chase Bolling died, although the elder Bolling has said that a coroner believes the death was an accident.

Update: Late today O’Reilly tweeted:

And apparently all is forgiven:
