Couric, who will interview Michael Bloomberg this week — his first sit-down since his appointment as the United Nations special envoy for cities and climate change — is inviting viewers to submit their questions, photos, and videos for the former New York City mayor via her Tumblr page.
Newsmaker interviews fueled by viewer questions and submissions is part of the programming Couric will produce for Yahoo News as the site’s global anchor. Couric and her team will also look to produce live events and global issues forums driven by viewers’ ideas as well as segments that break down big issues culled from viral and trending topics.
Couric’s programming on Yahoo News marks the next wave in Yahoo’s original video content and a key milestone in the expansion of Yahoo News. Couric will be ending her daytime talk show in the next couple of months.
