As CNN prepares to take control of CNNMoney, the network is bringing on Ed O’Keefe to the new position of VP of CNNMoney and Politics for CNN Digital.
As Time Inc. prepares to be spun off from Time Warner, CNNMoney stays in the Time Warner fold and, as of June 1, becomes a part of CNN. (Money magazine and Money.com remain with Time Inc. Money made its own internal moves yesterday). O’Keefe will be tasked with growing the CNNMoney brand as well as expanding political coverage on CNN Digital. He’ll work alongside DC bureau chief Sam Feist in that capacity.
O’Keefe joins from NowThisNews where he was editor-in-cheif. Before that, he spent 12 years at ABC News, lastly as executive producer at ABCNews.com.
In addition, CNN Digital is promoting Lex Haris to Executive Editor of CNNMoney. Haris has been with CNNMoney since 2001, and has been the site’s managing editor since 2007.
