Ed Kosowski Coming To CNBC?

By Brian

Last week, I heard that CNBCers were buzzing that WHDH news director Ed Kosowski could be heading to the business network. Kosowski resigned from the NBC affil in Boston a few days ago, and he told the Boston Herald that his next job won’t be in local news.

“His next employer plans to disclose his appointment as part of a larger announcement in the coming weeks,” the story said.

> Update: 2:15pm: Earlier this afternoon, I speculated that Kosowski could be in line for the primetime/weekend programming VP job that was vacated by Bob Meyers this week, but that’s not in the cards. Kosowski is being considered for one of the four new executive producer positions that are being filled by David Friend and Glen Rochkind, an insider tells TVNewser.

> Also: “Kosowski worked with now-CNBC President Mark Hoffman at Chicago’s WLS-7-ABC in the mid-1980s,” according to NewsBlues. “Kosowski was the assignment editor and Hoffman was managing editor at the ABC O&O.”
