Ed Henry Lands Hotel Room Across the Hall from Hillary

By Mark Joyella

Fox News chief White House correspondent Ed Henry got close–a lot closer than he thought he’d get–but it didn’t help him land an elusive interview.

Checking into a hotel in Iowa last night, Henry says the hotel clerk randomly assigned him to room 331–directly adjacent to a room that had two Secret Service agents posted outside. “Wait, I thought, is Hillary Clinton in that room across the hall? Nah,” Henry writes:

But then as I opened my door I glanced back at a Secret Service agent who was clearly laughing. And clearly amused by the fact that the hotel clerk had randomly placed a Fox News correspondent just a few yards from The Candidate Who Will Not Be Taking Your Questions Today (TCWWNBTYQT).

Henry did his best to land an exclusive interview–with no luck. “I will head out to the hallway in a few minutes. Maybe we’ll run into each other at the ice machine?”

Joking aside, Henry did ask Clinton at one event if she was willing to take questions from the media, to which Mrs. Clinton responded “I might. I have to ponder it. I will put it on my list for due consideration.”

Clinton did agree to take questions, and that even had Ed Henry trending on Twitter for a time today.
