Eau de Anderson

By Chris Ariens

ICN links to an LATimes story about how “decorator and fashionista at large Tom Ford was hot to create a new cologne for the ‘Anderson Cooper 360’ host and Sesame Street ‘special correspondent.'” (After time spent in Oscar’s garbarge can, AC probably needed some cologne.)

David Ehrenstein writes, “Initially Cooper turned (Ford) down, but Mom (that’s Gloria Vanderbilt to you) thinks it’s a swell idea.” However, “Simply slapping a star’s name across a bottle doesn’t guarantee success,” (said Cooper colleague) CNN/Money staff writer Parija Bhatnagar.

>Update: A CNN spokesperson shoots down the whole story to TVNewser: “There is absolutely no truth to this item – Anderson was never approached with this offer and has never been in discussions with Ford.”
