The man who created cable news has been honored in Atlanta with a downtown street now re-named Ted Turner Drive. “Ted Turner, by every definition, by every example, is a great man,” said Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

Turner, who created TBS and CNN in Atlanta, was a man of few words at the unveiling ceremony on a searingly hot day in Georgia. “I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it, but I really do,” Turner said, reported the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “Thanks for coming out in the heat and enjoying it with me.”
