Dotty Lynch Leaving CBS News

By Brian

Dotty Lynch, the senior political editor at CBS News, is leaving the network after 20 years, TVNewser has learned.

A CBS rep confirmed the departure this afternoon. There’s no word yet on why. Lynch has served as political editor since 1985. She was promoted to senior political editor in 1997. She also filed the “Political Points” column for CBSNews.com.

From 1972 to 1985 she worked as a pollster for various Democratic candidates and liberal causes, including Ted Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, and Walter Mondale (something that has always bugged conservatives).
