“Doesn’t anyone feel really bad for Elizabeth Vargas in all of this? All the limelight has been shifted from her new newscast and her being another woman to anchor the evening news to Katie Couric. Her partner is severely injured, and she’s going on maternity leave soon. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if ABC eliminates both Vargas and Woodruff as anchors and goes with Diane Sawyer. Then, at least, they can compete with CBS and Couric. Otherwise, ABC will probably sink to the distant third place, as it’s on it way to now.”
