Donald Trump Sat Down for a 29-Minute Interview With NBC News

By Chris Ariens

NBC may have cut business ties with Donald Trump, but the GOP presidential candidate isn’t taking that out on NBC News. The Donald sat down for a half hour interview this morning at Trump Tower with NBC News correspondent Katy Tur. A big part of the interview aired in the 1 p.m. ET hour on MSNBC. All of it will air on All In with Chris Hayes at 8 p.m. ET tonight.

The interview ran the gamut: from Hillary Clinton (“the worst Secretary of State in U.S. history”) to Charles Krauthammer (“a totally overrated person”) and of course his controversial comments on illegal immigrants (“there’s nothing to apologize for.”) Trump even boasted he’d win the Latino vote.

“It’s significantly different watching it on the monitor than it is actually being there,” Tur said to Chuck Todd after the interview aired on MSNBC. “It felt more like we were having a rapport and going back and forth. The fact that they were extremely unhappy with the interview when all was said and done was a bit of a surprise. They said the questions weren’t phrased fairly and wouldn’t be given to other candidates,” Tur said.

Following Tur’s interview, CNN’s Anderson Cooper sat down with Trump at his Tower, for 40 minutes we’re told. It will air on AC360 tonight.

Univision anchor Jorge Ramos is still waiting for his chance to interview Trump. Like NBC, Univision cut ties with Trump over his comments on Mexican immigrants.
