CNN Tonight anchor Don Lemon has been as critical of President Trump’s behavior in office as any cable news host, and that hasn’t sat well with some of the president’s most passionate supporters.
Lemon was interviewed yesterday at the FT Live conference in New York, and spoke about the harassment he has been experiencing.
“I was doing a shoot in the park the other day and someone said, ‘We built this country. I can’t wait for CNN to fire your black ass, you faggot,'” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Jeremy Barr.
Lemon reportedly said that he receives junk mail from people who have figured out his address.
“People call the authorities and accuse me of doing certain things,” Lemon said.
According to Barr, Lemon maintained that he loves his prime time gig at CNN, but does wonder how long he will be able to continue to do it, considering how intense the current political-media climate is.
“It ain’t easy, but I don’t plan to give up.”
