Just as Fox News chief Roger Ailes challenges his team to keep the news channel out front in the ratings, we’re seeing evidence of a slowdown in viewership.

On Sunday, Fox News averaged 99,000 in the demo for total day viewing (3am-3am), only the second time in the last 13 years the channel has delivered less than 100,000 viewers in the demo on a given day. The only other time FNC fell below 100,000 was a week earlier, on Dec. 28, when the network averaged 96,000.

Granted, these were holiday weekends, but the bigger factor may be that Fox News remains off Dish Network, a loss of 14 million available homes. Multichannel news reports that, according to Fox News, 90,000 subscribers have dropped Dish for other carriers in the wake of the dispute.
