ABC News anchors and correspondents are getting out of New York to prove you can go home again.
Diane Sawyer and four reporters on her broadcast, will return to their hometowns to report on success stories of the economic recovery. For Sawyer, it’s a return to Louisville, Kentucky.
“By returning to our roots we are hoping to shine a light on the resilience and the powerful ideas of Americans that will ultimately drive the recovery,” Sawyer tells TVNewser.
“World News” weekend anchor David Muir returns to Syracuse, New York. Sharyn Alfonsi goes home to Georgetown, SC. Ron Claiborne to Oakland, CA and Bill Weir returns to his Wisconsin roots to Milwaukee.
All will be revisiting familiar places and faces to see what innovative solutions people have implemented to survive and even thrive during the downturn. “The economy is still issue number one around the kitchen table,” Sawyer tells us. “A lot is working, and we hope to share the inventive ways Americans are firing up the spirit of hope and change.”
The week-long series begins Monday on “World News with Diane Sawyer.”
