Diane Macedo, who signed off as a weekend morning anchor at New York’s WCBS earlier this month, is joining ABC News as anchor of World News Now and America This Morning.

Reena Ninan, who had been anchor of those early morning newscasts, will move to reporting for ABC News based in New York.

ABC News president James Goldston calls Macedo, “A skilled and versatile journalist.” Before WCBS, Macedo was a reporter and anchor at Fox Business Network, as well as news editor for FoxNews.com.

“Diane joins our brilliant number one overnight team,” Goldston says. “They are often the unsung heroes of this news division, on the front lines of our coverage when news breaks and continually driving the conversation into each day.”
