Debates: 2.05 Million Watch GOP On CNN

CNN’s broadcast of the Republican debate delivered 2,055,000 total viewers between 7 and 9pm yesterday. The viewership, while high, was easily topped by Sunday’s Democratic debate, which averaged 2,783,000.

In fact, FNC’s The O’Reilly Factor at 8pm averaged more total viewers (2,307,000) than the two-hour debate.

The GOP debate easily topped O’Reilly in the 25-54 demo, with 747,000 demo viewers from 7 to 9pm (compared to 384,000 for the Factor). The Democratic debate had more than a million demo viewers.

Of the three GOP debates thus far, CNN’s had the most demo viewers (MSNBC’s had 561,000 and FNC’s had 720,000). But FNC attracted more total viewers for its May 15 debate (2,251,000)…
