At Friday’s graduation ceremony at Northeastern University, commencement speaker David Muir took to the newest online platform to show how social media is changing traditional media. According to the Boston Globe write-up on the graudation:
Muir told graduates that they are all reporters now, “interconnected in extraordinary ways. It’s a two-way conversation,” he said. “We are just a tweet away from each other.” Muir also said that because he “doesn’t like to break a story last,” he went on Twitter and posted a link to video on Periscope, and then broadcast the graduating class as they erupted in cheers: “LIVE on #Periscope: Here they come. @northeastern class of 2015!”
