“World News Tonight” anchor David Muir kicked off a new era of the ABC News flagship broadcast with a personal message to viewers and to his predecessor Diane Sawyer. “It is an honor to begin this journey with you,” Muir said at the beginning of the show. Signing off, he thanked Sawyer, who sent midway through the show, adding, “Thank you friend, for everything.”
