“CBS Evening News” anchor Katie Couric was the “Late Show with David Letterman” last night. Letterman asked about her contract situation, and whether she would leave CBS.

“I am figuring out what I want to do and in the process of figuring out the future,” Couric said.

“Once you take the anchor chair, that’s what you do,” Letterman said. “It is not like it’s a temp gig.”
