Dateline’s 100M Viewer Summer

NBC News is crowing about its big summer for “Dateline.” From May 26 through August 30, 102 million Total Viewers tuned in to “Dateline” on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays, including the Michael Jackson specials on June 25, July 3, and July 7.

“Dateline” also topped “20/20” in head-to-head competition on Fridays from May 29 through August 28. “Dateline” topped the venerable ABC newsmag, which is about to lose a co-anchor, in Total Viewers by 26% (1.194 million viewers), as well as in the A18-49 demo (+17%) and the A25-54 demo (+27%).

“Dateline” cracked Nielsen’s Top 20 primetime programs six of the last 14 weeks.
