Moonves snubs Rather’s anchor years in his press release quote, which barely acknowledges Dan’s presence at CBS…

Rather issues his own statement, through his agent, that says CBS “had not lived up to their obligation to allow me to do substantive work there…”

CBS issues a non-response response to Rather’s statement…

McManus tries to be cordial and says “we just couldn’t” come up with a satisfactory “schedule of assignments on ’60 Minutes…'”

But Rather says CBS offered “no assignments” and no tie to any particular CBS program…

and Rather declines to be interviewed for Tuesday’s CBS Evening News package about his departure…
