Covering U.S. Open, FBN’s Liz Claman Reports From Scene of Blimp Crash

By Chris Ariens

FBN’s Liz Claman returned to her local news roots this morning while covering the U.S. Open golf tournament in Erin, Wisconsin.

Claman and her crew rushed to the scene of a blimp that had crashed into a field near the Erin Hills golf course, site of the tournament. The pilot was the only person on board the blimp and parachuted out, without suffering series injury. The blimp was not associated with the tour and was used to advertise PenFed. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the pilot,” a statement from PenFed reads.

Claman and Maria Bartiromo are anchoring their FBN shows from the golf course today and tomorrow, interviewing business leaders including Harley Davidson CEO Matt Levatich, Kohl’s CEO Kevin Mansell, Rockwell Automation CEO Blake Moret, and MillerCoors CEO Gavin Hattersley.
