Comcast CEO Calls MSNBC Ratings Growth ‘An Incredible Story’

By Chris Ariens

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said MSNBC, part of Comcast’s NBC News Group, is “an incredible story which has yet to really be monetized.”

Roberts’ comments came at Goldman Sachs Communacopia, a media investor conference happening in New York today. Roberts didn’t get into detail about why the revenue hasn’t matched the ratings growth the network has seen since the election.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow had the most-watched cable news show among younger viewers in Q2 2017. The network was No. 2 overall, behind Fox News, and saw +86 percent viewer growth in prime time and +73 percent growth for full day viewing.
