Colbert Gets His Very Own Trump Call-In Interview

By Mark Joyella

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has made phone-in interviews a key part of his be-everywhere-talk-to-everyone (well, not Megyn Kelly or Jorge Ramos) campaign. Tuesday night, Trump called in to CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert.

The call–unlike most calls to Morning Joe, Face the Nation, or CNN Tonight–arrived on an elegant “Trump Phone” covered in spun yellow hair and complete with a TRUMP TRUMP ring tone.

“Let’s talk about what experts are calling your potty mouth,” Colbert asked Trump. “I can think off the top of my head three things that you have said on air that, and this is true, CBS will not let me repeat…I’ve got a suggestion, why don’t you have a swear jar, and every time you say a bad word you put a billion dollars in it.”

Trump said he has “decided to stop” with the colorful language–at least through Saturday, when South Carolina’s genteel voters go to the polls.
