CNN’s WWJ Really D?

By SteveK

CNN contributor Roland Martin will host “What Would Jesus Really Do?” tomorrow night and December 24 at 8pmET. Martin and his panel will discuss various political topics as they relate to religion, including the war in Iraq, gay rights, immigration, abortion, healthcare and the economy.

Also, during the broadcast, a CNN “Quick Vote Poll” will ask viewers if they think Jesus would be a Democrat, Republican or independent. (TVNewser is thinking Whig.)

Today, CNN.com published a commentary by Martin, called “You can’t take Christ out of Christmas.” The commentary attacks those he calls “politically correct idiots.”

“What the heck are ‘Seasons Greetings’? Can someone tell me what season we are greeting folks about? A Christmas tree? Oh, no! It’s now a holiday tree,” he writes. “But this seeming backlash against Christianity is bordering on the absurd, and we should continue to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.”

An anonymous emailer asks, “O’Reilly’s War On Christmas re-born on CNN?” in relation to the column. But Martin may be alone now in fighting the war, since Bill O’Reilly‘s yearly War on Christmas ended this year after he declared victory — although his boss may anger the No-Spinner with this year’s holiday note (how Secular Progressive).
