CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta Gets Marijuana Strain Named After Him

CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta changed his mind about medical marijuana earlier this month, and it has not gone unnoticed among, uh, aficionados.

According to Marijuana.com, “Sanjay Gupta Kush” is now available for sale at a dispensary in Boulder, Colorado. According to Business Insider, the strain of pot “is a modified Indica with roots originating from southeast Asia.”

Gupta’s documentary “Weed” ended up delivering huge numbers for CNN when it debuted. Clearly, pot fans are a loyal bunch.

Update: It seems CNN isn’t pleased with this development, and has asked the dispensary to stop calling the strain by that name.
