On the day after the night of violence in Ferguson, MO, CNN secured a very rare ratings win in the A25-54 demo. CNN won every hour of the day in the demo, and also came in first in total viewers during several hours: at 5am, from Noon-2pm and from 11pm-1am. Fox News came in first in total viewers for the rest of the day.
For daytime viewing (9am-5pm) CNN was up +209% in the demo and up +111% in total viewers vs. Monday. Fox News was up +62% in the demo and up +25% in viewers vs. Monday.
In primeime both networks lost viewers vs. Monday night, which saw massive tune-in for the reading of the grand jury decision as well as the rioting that followed. CNN was down -67% in the demo and down -68% in viewers, while Fox News was down -57% in the demo and down -46% in viewers.
