CNN’s In-Depth Look at the Iran Hostage Crisis

By Brian Flood

With the 35th anniversary of the Iran Hostage Crisis approaching, the Americans who were beaten, tortured and humiliated during their 444 days of imprisonment tell their story of anguish and hope to CNN.

“Witnessed: The Iran Hostage Crisis” airs tomorrow at 9pmET and will also examine what has been called America’s first conflict with militant Islam. It features insiders from the Carter administration and veteran newsman Ted Koppel, who in 1979 anchored a late night ABC newscast providing the latest news out of Iran. That program still exists today as “Nightline.”
