CNN Pipeline: Should Be Interactive

By Brian

CNN Pipeline is an evolution, but not the “revolution” it’s been touted as, Publish.com’s Stephen Bryant writes.

“Why? Because Pipeline ports all the benefits of television to the Internet, but few of the benefits of the Internet to TV.”

Maybe CNN will add interactivity to the news service, but it’s not there yet. “What CNN hasn’t done is invest in the audience,” Bryant says. “Pipeline is based on the one-to-many broadcast model of television. And in an online world that increasingly favors participation and interactivity, that’s actually a step backward.”
