CNN Opens Bureau in São Paulo

CNN announced today that it will open a permanent newsgathering hub in São Paulo, Brazil. CNN’s Shasta Darlington will be moving to São Paulo effective immediately to head up the bureau. Darlington, who joined CNN five years ago in the Havana bureau, will cover breaking news and news of the day, as well as the growing Brazilian economy, and the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. “CNN is pleased to be establishing a bureau in Brazil with Shasta Darlington as the correspondent,” said Parisa Khosravi, SVP of international newsgathering. “Her depth of experience reporting on the Latin American region, coupled with her knowledge of business reporting will serve her well in this economic powerhouse.”
