CNN director, lifetime employee honored by alma mater

Roger Strauss, one of 15 people working at CNN who have been with the network from the start, will receive the John Holliman Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award from his alma mater the University of Georgia. Strauss graduated from Grady College at UGA in 1980, the same year CNN went on the air. Currently a Senior Director, during his 31 years at CNN Strauss has directed more than 17,000 live shows, more than anyone at the network. Strauss will be honored May 12 at the college’s Alumni Awards Brunch in Athens.
