CNN Digital editorial director Manuel Perez has announced eight promotions among his staff. Members of the news desk and enterprise teams are among the CNNers having happy Wednesdays. This comes after Carl Lavin was promoted to Editorial Director, News and Homepage Programming just last week.

The News Desk’s Sarah Aarthun, who for the past year has done an excellent job elevating our storytelling on the PM shift while never taking her foot off the breaking news gas pedal, has been promoted to Senior Assignment Editor.
Steve Goldberg, whose sharp editing shines through in many of the outstanding enterprise pieces we’ve published in recent years, has been promoted to Senior Assignment Editor for the Enterprise team.
Opinion’s John Sutter, whose storytelling prowess has been on full display this week with his amazing multimedia piece on child poverty in Silicon Valley, has been promoted to Enterprise Writer.
The Enterprise team’s Moni Basu, John Blake, Ann O’Neill and Jessica Ravitz, all of whom have contributed excellent work – from Ferguson to India, from Selma to Boston – now have a title that’s fitting of their roles as Enterprise Writers.
