CNN Correspondent to be Deported From Myanmar … Again

By Chris Ariens

CNN correspondent Dan Rivers is being deported from Myanmar for the second time, the AP reports. Rivers is on a blacklist for illicitly reporting from the country two years ago, an Information Ministry official told the AP today.

Rivers was one of the few Western journalists to report on the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis in May 2008. He was kicked out after several days of reporting. “I kind of felt that I’d used my nine lives up and it was time to get out of the country,” Rivers said at the time.

Rivers was back in the country this week to cover Armed Forces Day.
