CNN: Democratic Debate Audience to Be ‘Significantly Smaller’

By Mark Joyella

CNN won’t have Donald Trump on stage for Tuesday’s first Democratic presidential debate, and the network knows the audience likely won’t come near the record viewership for the GOP debates on Fox News and CNN.

“Viewership for the first two GOP debates was an anomaly in a highly unusual Republican nomination cycle. While I won’t predict ratings for this debate, we expect the audience to be significantly smaller,” CNN Washington bureau chief Sam Feist told Politico.

CNN, meanwhile, has announced who will stand where on the debate stage in Las Vegas tomorrow night–with Hillary Clinton in the center, with Bernie Sanders to one side and Martin O’Malley on the other. Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee take the outside spots, with Vice President Joe Biden a question mark.
