CNBC Gets Kozlowski, Too

By Chris Ariens

CNBC touted its interview with convicted Tyco chief Dennis Kozlowski as a First On. It was; this morning at 8:30ET. After a portion of the interview re-aired at 10:15amET anchor Mark Haines and correspondent Bertha Coombs had a little fun with their cross-river rival.

Coombs: Kozlowski will be eligible for parole in 2013. The full interview will air on CNBC’s American Greed when it returns in January. Mark?

Haines: Gee, that can’t be right.

Bertha Coombs: Why?

Mark Haines: It says right here in the New York Post that Fox Business Network has an exclusive interview with Dennis Koslowski.

Haines: I guess not so exclusive,

Coombs: Huh? I don’t understand.

Haines: Everything in the New York Post is the God’s honest truth. Thank you, Bertha.

>More: CNBC had an outside production company interview Kozlowski for the January special, but chose to run clips today. The move has led an FBN insider to ask: “Gee, they’re not too reactive are they? And they’re still not worried, right?”

>More, More, from CNBC insider: “Not reactive. Not worried. Just first.”

>More, More, More from an FBN insider: “More like just in denial given the absurd lengths CNBC went to on this.”
