CNBC Director Dies After Long Battle With Cancer

By Chris Ariens

CNBC is mourning the loss of David Van Dyck, a long-time director at the business news channel. He died Friday night after a long battle with cancer. Van Dyck started as a freelance technical associate in 1990 and quickly worked his way up to director. He directed “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch” and more recently “The Call.” Colleagues describe him as a hard worker who cared about all technical aspects. One colleague writes TVNewser, “Most of all he had great respect for the techs working with him. He will be missed.”

David Van Dyck was just 39 years old.
