CNN’s senior international correspondent Clarissa Ward gave birth to a healthy baby boy this past Friday.
Ezra Albrecht Nikolas Nour von Bernstorff (quite a name!) is the first child for Ward and husband, Philipp von Bernstorff. The father is a German Count, which undoubtedly played a part in the name.
Despite her baby bump, Ward reported from places like Yemen and Bangladesh late into her pregnancy. Early on in her pregnancy she reported from St. Maarten after Hurricane Irma and Greenland, where she camped on the ice sheet at -27 degrees for CNN’s Global Warning doc.
