One of Chuck Todd‘s interviews for Sunday’s Meet the Press is already making waves this Friday afternoon.
Todd interviewed Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) this afternoon at his Capitol Hill office. When Todd asked the civil rights leader if he would be willing to work with the president after he takes office one week from today, Lewis responded, “I believe in forgiveness, I believe in trying to working with people,” adding, “I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president.”
Lewis won’t attend the inauguration, the first one he’ll miss since he took office in 1987.
Todd’s interview made waves as soon as NBC tweeted it out around 2:30 this afternoon. CNN, Fox News and Bloomberg have reported on it, and discussed it. Todd is as well on his MSNBC show MTP Daily.
