Christie Press Conference Ratings: Fox News Wins in Total Viewers, CNN Tops in Demo

Christie CNNAlthough the Chris Christie Bridgegate story has previously been beneficial to MSNBC‘s ratings, it was Fox News and CNN that notched ratings wins during the Governor’s hour-long news conference Friday. From 2:30 to 3:30pmET, Fox News won in total viewers and CNN won in the A25-54 demographic.

During the newser, Fox News delivered 1,020,000 total viewers and 185,000 A25-54 viewers. CNN, which cut out after about a half hour, had 700,000 total viewers and 192,000 A25-54 viewers, while MSNBC had 700,000 and 89,000, respectively. Coverage of the news conference continued into primetime, with Fox News in first, CNN in second and MSNBC in third from 8-11pmET (the scoreboard with the full primetime numbers will be up shortly).

In other ratings notes from Friday, Piers Morgan ended his CNN show on an up note, tying Fox News’ “The Kelly File” in the demo — both shows averaged 244,000 A25-54 viewers. Megyn Kelly’s program won in total viewers, averaging 1,647,000 to Morgan’s 649,000.
