Following Lesley Stahl‘s revelation Monday night about why President Trump attacks a major swath of the news media, at least one TV newser is wondering why she didn’t reveal that information earlier.

On Monday night, Stahl was in conversation with PBS NewsHour anchor Judy Woodruff at a Deadline Club event when Stahl brought up a meeting she had at Trump Tower as she tried to secure the first interview with the Pres-elect, which she did. At one point, Stahl asked him about his relentless media attacks.

“You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me no one will believe you,” Stahl said, quoting Trump. (See it at the :21 minute mark in this video.)

This afternoon, at least one reporter, CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, wondered why it took so long for Stahl to open up about that information.
