Chris Wallace Reflects on Clinton Interview

By SteveK

Marketwatch’s Jon Friedman talked to Chris Wallace about one of the most memorable moments on FOX News Sunday — the heated interview with Bill Clinton. (video is after the jump.)

“As I got past the astonishment, I did think, ‘This is great stuff!'” said Wallace. “We’re seeing this side of Bill Clinton that we’ve never seen before on television.”

And after all his journalistic accomplishments, Wallace said, “When they write my obituary, the Clinton interview will be in either the first or the second paragraph.”

The anchor also talked about the battle for Sunday morning supremacy, in which he’s short-handed without a news lead-in (“He is too much of a Fox News team player to elaborate. But I sensed that he believed his show deserved a better fate,” wrote Friedman), and his colleague Brit Hume. “He may be the smartest person I’ve ever known,” he said.
