Chris Matthews’ Wife Buying Campaign Spots on MSNBC, CNN, Fox News

Kathleen Matthews, the wife of MSNBC host Chris Matthews, has bought ad time during tomorrow night’s Republican presidential campaign on MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN, reports Politico.

Matthews is running in the Democratic primary to replace Rep. Chris Van Hollen in Maryland. The ad, Politico notes, will likely run while her husband is on air doing post-debate coverage on MSNBC:

“Watching the Republicans run for President makes me proud to be a Democrat,” Kathleen Matthews, who was a long-time local news anchor and former Marriott executive, will say in the ad, titled “Proud.” “Because our party stands up for working women, good wages, upward mobility, better health care – including the choices we have a right to make. As the Republican debate shows, their policies undermine the middle class and divide America.”

The ad will air in the Maryland area first on Fox News during the debate and on MSNBC and CNN during post-debate coverage, likely the same time her husband Chris is scheduled to host a live post-debate “Hardball” from 11 p.m. – 1 a.m.
