Chris Hansen to Host Crime Watch Daily

In a deal that will bring the catchphrase “have a seat” back to television, Chris Hansen has signed on as host of the syndicated show Crime Watch Daily, which will be re-named Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen.

The show, which has been in production since 2015, will become home to Hansen’s Kickstarter-funded Hansen v. Predator, a re-boot of the hidden camera franchise that made Hansen famous with NBC’s To Catch a Predator. Last October, police in Fairfield, Conn. announced ten arrests in an undercover sting that was shot as part of Hansen v. Predator.

When Hansen announced the Kickstarter campaign in 2015, he said it would ultimately debut online and then be shopped to cable networks. “We have reached a deal,” Hansen announced recently on Twitter, promising details today.

“I think we’re going to try to get in the news more and not just cover breaking news but get inside the story to get the key interviews that perhaps no one else has access to. I think I can be helpful to Crime Watch Daily because of all the crime stories I’ve covered around the world,” Hansen told Broadcasting and Cable.
