Charlie Gibson On Turning 65: “I Stopped Counting At 39”

ABC’s Charlie Gibson turns 65 today. He tells TVNewser he doesn’t celebrate his birthday, “especially after you’ve had 321 of them as I’ve had. Like Jack Benny, I stopped counting at 39, and I keep changing addresses so the AARP can’t find me.”

But does he at least have a birthday wish? “I could be a Miss America contestant and wish for world peace,” he says. “I could be entirely selfish and wish to consistently break 90. Or, I could just wish for serenity, peace, and contentment for all those I love.”
