Charles Krauthammer Has Died

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, syndicated columnist and longtime Fox News political contributor Charles Krauthammer has died. Krauthammer’s death at age 68 is being reported by The Washington Post’s Paul Farhi.

Fox News revealed in a letter earlier this month that Krauthammer had been losing his battle with cancer and only had “a few weeks to live.”

Krauthammer had been a mainstay on Fox News’s Special Report with Bret Baier, but had been off the network for nearly a year after battling an abdominal tumor and subsequent health complications after it was removed last August.

“I leave this life with no regrets,” Krauthammer wrote in the letter. “It was a wonderful life—full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living. I am sad to leave, but I leave with the knowledge that I lived the life that I intended.”

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend, Charles Krauthammer,” said Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott in a statement. “A gifted doctor and brilliant political commentator, Charles was a guiding voice throughout his time with Fox News and we were incredibly fortunate to showcase his extraordinary talent on our programs. He was an inspiration to all of us and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his beloved wife Robyn and his son Daniel.”

FNC will air the one-hour special Charles Krauthammer: His Words tomorrow night at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The special includes reflections by Baier, Brit Hume, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Fred Barnes and George Will.
