CBS News senior VP of news coverage Marcy McGinnis is leaving, TVNewser has confirmed. Her last day is Nov. 18.
In a memo to colleagues, McGinnis said “it’s time for a changing of the guard at CBS News.”
The announcement comes a week after Sean McManus became president. “Sean McManus told me when he arrived last week that he felt it was important to appoint his own ‘number two’ — a decision I understand,” her message says.
Public Eye has posted the full memo, along with a message from McManus.
> TV Week: “She has worked for CBS News since graduating from college 35 years ago and signing on as a secretary in the unit covering special events.” Here is her biography.
